2019 Year of Green Action (YoGA): Defra release partner toolkit

The Year of Green Action aims to encourage and promote events, announcements and activity that raise awareness of, and participation in, action beneficial to the environment.

The Year of Green Action (YoGA) was originally proposed in the 25 Year Environment Plan (YEP) and aims to inspire, to build momentum and to help us all understand how the choices we make affect the environment. Defra is calling on collective action that will better achieve the country's environmental goals and have released a YoGA Partner Toolkit to support organisations and individuals to make the most of the campaign.

The YoGA website with further information and events will be launched on the 14th January 2019 here: https://www.yearofgreenaction.org/

If you plan to share anything on social media, please use the hashtag #YearOfGreenAction to promote your actions. They have also partnered with the charity, Step Up To Serve, to encourage youth social action through their #iwill4nature campaign in 2019. Whilst children and young people are at the heart of the campaign, individuals, voluntary organisations, councils and businesses all have a part to play too.

As the Local Nature Partnership, we want to profile the great work the county of Gloucestershire is doing to deliver on the goals of the 25 YEP. So, if you are running any activities that can be badged with a YoGA logo, please do so and let us know! We will also be creating a project/ideas map that will reflect which goals of the 25 YEP are being delivered through your activities (YoGA associated or not) - we'll let you know as soon as this is live but you can find out more here.

The logo and conditions of use are available here. And you can download the YoGA Toolkit here.

Please join us in making sure 2019 leaves a legacy of environmental improvement.
